2018 Season Update

Hi Challengers,

We have been hard at work re-organizing the contest that you know and love to make it even more amazing and accessible to students! Due to these structural changes, the 2017-18 season has been delayed to January. Worry not, however! We will be back in the new year with monthly rounds concluding in another amazing on-site finals in May.

Hang tight for more news coming soon!

Sincerely,
The Woburn Challenge Team

Round 3 Problems, Solutions, and Results are Available!

Hello Challengers!

Thank you for joining us in round 3! This contest proved to be one of our toughest yet, with the third problem of the senior division proven to be especially perplexing due to its ad-hoc nature. You may also have noticed that we decided to provide a kick to the junior division’s difficulty. The reason of course, is to keep all of you (even juniors!) on your toes and habitually challenged! This time, we witnessed only one perfect scorer in the senior division and none in the junior. Congratulations to Jason Yuen from Pierre Elliott Trudeau High, along with Arsh Raza from William Lyon Mackenzie High for winning the senior and junior divisions respectively.

The senior division prizewinners for this round are:

  1. Jason Yuen of Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School ($200)
  2. Joey Yu of Thornhill Secondary School ($100)
  3. William Wen of Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School ($50)
  4. Leo Feng of Vincent Massey Secondary School ($50)
  5. Brian Chau of Woburn Collegiate Institute ($50)

The junior division prizewinners for this round are:

  1. Arsh Raza of William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute ($50)
  2. Justin Pu of William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute ($25)
  3. Henning Jiang of Vincent Massey Secondary School ($25)

Congratulations! These prizes will be distributed as Visa gift cards, and we will be contacting your teachers shortly about sending them out. Remember to keep on practicing, since we still have many prizes in the remaining online round, as well as the invitational finals! Round 2 Problems, Solutions, and Results are Available!

Hello Challengers!

Thank you for joining us for round 2 of this year’s Woburn Challenge! As you could probably tell, we are cranking up the difficulty as the 2016-17 contest season progresses. While we expect you to be constantly practicing, we are also working to improve the contest experience from our end. In particular, we are aware that the judge was slow to provide live feedback due to the quantity of submissions being queued. Congratulations to Woburn students Allan Xu and Brian Chau for winning the junior and senior divisions respectively
