We have been hard at work re-organizing the contest that you know and love to make it even more amazing and accessible to students! Due to these structural changes, the 2017-18 season has been delayed to January. Worry not, however! We will be back in the new year with monthly rounds concluding in another amazing on-site finals in May.

The Woburn Challenge 2016-17 on-site finals was a great success! This year, we witnessed 10 schools battle it out for the title of Woburn Challenge champion. In the end, Jason Yuen and William Wen of Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School came out on top of the senior and junior divisions respectively. We truly hope that you enjoyed tackling all the problems which we have so carefully prepared with love. Thank you to all the helping hands that made this event possible, as well as contestants and teachers alike, who stayed with us through to the end of the season.

There were several perfect scores in both divisions despite how challenging the problems have become. Superb! Thank you for joining us in round 3! This contest proved to be one of our toughest yet, with the third problem of the senior division proven to be especially perplexing due to its ad-hoc nature. You may also have noticed that we decided to provide a kick to the junior division’s difficulty. The reason of course, is to keep all of you (even juniors!) on your toes and habitually challenged! This time, we witnessed only one perfect scorer in the senior division and none in the junior. Thank you for joining us for round 2 of this year’s Woburn Challenge! As you could probably tell, we are cranking up the difficulty as the 2016-17 contest season progresses. While we expect you to be constantly practicing, we are also working to improve the contest experience from our end. In particular, we are aware that the judge was slow to provide live feedback due to the quantity of submissions being queued. In future rounds, improvements to the site and server will be made to help prevent this issue. This time, we witnessed three perfect scores in both divisions.
