Round 2 Problems, Solutions, and Results are Available!

Hello Challengers!

Thank you for joining us for round 2 of this year’s Woburn Challenge! As you could probably tell, we are cranking up the difficulty as the 2016-17 contest season progresses. While we expect you to be constantly practicing, we are also working to improve the contest experience from our end. In particular, we are aware that the judge was slow to provide live feedback due to the quantity of submissions being queued. In future rounds, improvements to the site and server will be made to help prevent this issue. This time, we witnessed three perfect scores in both divisions. Congratulations to Woburn students Allan Xu and Brian Chau for winning the junior and senior divisions respectively

The senior division prizewinners for this round are:

  1. Brian Chau of Woburn Collegiate Institute ($200)
  2. William Wen of Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School ($100)
  3. Jason Yuen of Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School ($50)
  4. Zixiang Zhou of University Heights Public School ($50)
  5. Andrew Lin of University Hill Secondary School ($50)

The junior division prizewinners for this round are:

  1. Allan Xu of Woburn Collegiate Institute ($50)
  2. Justin Pu of William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute ($25)
  3. William Fung of Richmond Hill High School ($25)

Congratulations! These prizes will be distributed as Visa gift cards, and we will be contacting your teachers shortly about sending them out. Remember that we will have many prizes in the remaining rounds of the year, so keep on practicing! Problems and solutions for this round are now posted at: woburnchallenge.com/past-contests. Once again, we thank all of you who participated, as well as teachers for sharing this with your students.
